Coniston
Coniston is a pretty village situated at the foot of the 'Old Man of
Coniston', (2635ft).
This popular, yet quiet, Lakeland village has two small supermarkets
(one, with a very good butchers), a post office, four pubs, several cafes
all serving food and, an excellent restaurant. A great base for walking,
fishing, canoeing, bike riding, painting etc. It is also conveniently
situated with Ambleside, Grasmere, Windermere and Hawkshead all within 30
minutes drive.
Coniston is the perfect, peaceful
holiday retreat.
